    A standard resistive touchscreen is a two-layer construction - the top layer is flexible PET film and the bottom layer is glass. Current flows through the two layers. When the top layer is pressed, it bends and touches the bottom layer, creating a voltage change and touch.

  • Resistive Touch Screen

    A standard resistive touchscreen is a two-layer construction - the top layer is flexible PET film and the bottom layer is glass. Current flows through the two layers. When the top layer is pressed, it bends and touches the bottom layer, creating a voltage change and touch.

    This structure is the most common resistive product structure in which an outer layer of PET and an inner layer of ITO-coated glass are separated by a series of microdot spacers. Both    layers have a slight electrical charge, and when the two layers are pressed together, an electrical circuit is created that allows the device to register touches and where they are touched.
